The structures in the Rocky Lights Railroad make up the towns and villages. They are wooden, plastic and stone. Several are purchased complete, some are kits and some are birdhouses or garden ornaments. We use whatever has character and fits the theme.Of course the layout wouldn't be complete without lighthouses. There are many of them. Each lake has one or maybe two and there are abandoned lighthouses scattered around. There's even one set up on display for visitors to view (g-scale visitors). Most light up and are great to see in the evening guiding in the fishing boats. Many of the buildings light up at night. Most have a low watt lighting system installed on timers or photocells.
